I have failed as a blogger this past year. With so many avenues to share photos with our clients including  galleries, personal photo app, Facebook, instagram, etc. I have failed to blog our client photos. Hopefully that will change. I am making a new years resolution in November to use all the social media avenues for every client. I am spending the day to pre-post lot’s of blog posts.

I probably should blog Heather and Mark’s wedding first, but I love these photos from their day after session and already have the photos ready for the blog. So the day after session it is. Heather and Mark had their downtown Denver wedding this past fall. It was extremely windy on their wedding day, so for the most part we spent the wedding day inside. With that we did a day after session with them. All the fall colors were gone by the time we did their session, but that didn’t matter at all for me. The came prepared to rock the session. Heather and Mark are incredibly sweet people and one of our favorite clients.

Colorado has spectacular backdrops to photograph in. Colorado also has some of the most beautiful sunsets that I have ever seen. We try to schedule our engagement sessions 2 hours before the sunsets for this very reason. It gives us plenty of time to get some great photos walking around in good light. Then the magic golden light before the sunsets, and then hopefully a beautiful sunset.

Christie and Brandon received an incredible sunset for their engagement session. During the session I noticed the clouds in the sky,  thinking the sun could get under them  just right and light them up pretty good. We talked about it and made our way over to the lake where we had some great open space to work in. The Colorado sky exploded with orange and red for us and we made use of it for their portraits. The colors didn’t last long, but we captured plenty of colorful sky to create some portraits they could hang on their wall.

Christie and Brandon will be getting married at Lionscrest Manor next summer. To see more of our Colorado wedding photography head over to our website.

We wanted to start featuring some of the fabulous Colorado wedding vendors we continue to work with, so we are going to start blogging them in our Vendor Spotlight section on the blog. Wedding cakes was a easy first choice to blog about, since my diet consists of mainly meats and sweets. I have a huge sweet tooth and an ever increasing waist line that I keep saying I will take care of. Whoops! One of the greatest benefits of being a wedding photographer is having a piece of wedding cake if there is any left over after the guests have some.

Colorado Rose Cake Company owned and operated by Marci, she makes fabulous cakes for so many Colorado weddings. We seem to run into her quite a bit at Lionscrest Manor, Della Terra, Wild Basin, and other Estes Park Weddings. She constantly amazes me with what she can create. I can’t imagine having the steady hands to put on some of the detail that go into designing a cake. Kammi and I have found ourselves watching Cake Boss quite a bit these days. With wedding season coming up I thought I would showcase some of Colorado Rose Cake Company’s great work. She along with Kammi and I will be vendors at the upcoming Lionscrest Manor Wedding show on March 18th, from 12-3. Come up to Lionscrest Manor to find some incredible vendors for your wedding.
