There is something about a Colorado winter wedding with falling snow that is just magical. Lionscrest Manor is such a beautiful venue surrounded with plenty of mountain views. Add in the biggest snow flakes you have ever seen and you have the perfect mix for a winter wedding.

When planning your wedding in Colorado you never know what kind of weather will show up. Lauren and Tristan were thrilled with the snow covering the ground and continuing to fall during their wedding day. The did originally want to have their ceremony outside, but didn’t want their guests to get cold and wet. They opted to go outside for some photos of just the two of them.

When planning a wedding in Colorado be sure to prepare for a backup plan in case of bad weather. Lionscrest can quickly turn around their ballroom into a ceremony room very quickly should bad weather arrive on your wedding day. Most of the time it seems that most storms in Colorado are brief which is great if you are waiting on a storm to pass on your wedding.

Still catching up on my blogging and doing a pretty good job of being consistent. YAY me I am on a roll now.

Kerri and AJ got married at Lionscrest Manor this summer. They bought both their dogs to be apart of the wedding. Dogs are family you know. Kerri and AJ had a “first look” behind doors. Kerri found several ideas on the popular Pinterst to have at her wedding. One of them was the “first look” and the other was being thrown up into the air by the groomsmen. I made sure we did that after the ceremony in case anything happened. We only did three takes to get the great shot of Kerri in the air.

Kammi and I love Lionscrest Manor. It’s no secret that we photograph their a lot, and we love it there. We even got married their in 2001 so it holds a special place in our heart. The owners of Lionscrest Manor just do weddings right. I say this all the time, but they should teach a class to other venues on how to run a wedding venue. They surround themselves with incredible wedding vendors to make your wedding day go smooth.

Erin and Nate recently got married there. They were one of the first couples to be able to have their wedding there after the devastating Colorado floods. Erin and Nate’s guests and the vendors had to be given a special pass to get through the National Guard check points. The town was still not open for anyone, including some people that lived there. Lionscrest in on top of the mountain and have their own well water system so there was no damage to their property.

Erin and Nate had the perfect weather for their wedding and everything went off without a hitch. To see more of our Lionscrest Manor Wedding Photography head over to our website.

Rachel and Peter got married recently at one of our favorite venues…Lionscrest Manor. Yes, we photograph a lot of weddings there and it never ever gets old. Kammi and I got married up there in 2001, so we are very partial to Lionscrest Manor. I have said it before many times, but the staff at Lionscrest just do weddings right. They surround themselves with incredible preferred vendors who make wedding days perfect.

For Rachel & Peter’s wedding, the rain came and came down hard. The great thing about Colorado weather, if you wait 10 minutes it will change. The rain did clear just in time for the ceremony and for photos. Check out some of our favorite photos from their wedding. And check out the motorcycle grooms cake. INCREDIBLE!

Time to post the wonderful and sweet couple Katie & Zach’s Lionscrest Manor wedding. They are currently enjoying a extended honeymoon in Italy right now. I have been keeping up with their travels online.  I love being able to see people’s travel photos through Facebook. Italy is such a beautiful country and one that I must travel to soon.

Katie and Zach opted to see each other before the ceremony which I always love doing. It helps couple relax a little bit and provides us with more time for photos before and after the ceremony. Almost all wedding timelines are delayed in some fashion or another and it always comes back to the photographers to make up the time, which in turn usually means less photos of the bride and groom. On this day, a storm was moving in and Lionscrest had the ballroom set up just in case of bad weather. Luckily for us the storm passed and the ceremony was held outside with the mountain views in the background. Seeing each other before hand allowed us to catch some great indoor photos and allowed for plenty of time for the rest of the photos after the ceremony.
