WOW, my first wedding where I photographed the brides senior photos. Does that mean I am getting old? I photographed Brittany’s senior photos 5 years ago and now she is getting married. When I met with Brittany & Eric, we planned their engagement session…A Ricky Bobby inspired engagement session. Eric wanted to include his motorcycle and I suggested a race track that was close by both of us. It’s a small local race track and I had never been there. Eric had actually raced there and was excited about the idea. .

So we were set and I met them at the track for their engagement session. As we walked around taking photos with his motorcycle, we talked, and laughed about movies. Since we were at a race track we started quoting lines from Talladega Nights, which for those of you have never seen it, is a racing comedy starring Will Ferrel. One of the funniest scenes in the movie is Will Ferrels character “Ricky Bobby” who crashes in a race and thinks he is on fire. He strips off all his clothes saying the funniest things, while his buddy tries to put out the pretend fire. Well, I said if you guys are up for re-creating it, I am up for photographing it. Eric was up for it and had all the moves down, flailing his arms flying all around in only his underwear, shoes, and helmet. We were all laughing so hard and practically crying.

I love my clients. I have the best job in the world. Head over to our website to see more of our inspired engagement sessions.

Andrea & Don are getting married this August at The Pradera and Kammi and I are so excited for their wedding. We photographed Andrea’s brothers wedding years ago down in Durango, Colorado. Andrea’s brother  Matt is married to Allison, whom have become great friends of ours over the years. Looking forward to seeing them at the wedding.  Allison and Matt have a very successful photography business down in Durango called Allison Ragsdale Photography. Check out their site.

Our first scheduled session for Andrea & Don had to be rescheduled due to weather. Andre’s did a test run on her wedding day makeup for her session, which I think is a great idea. We decided to have the session downtown. I checked Denver’s summer events for the first session and there was nothing. Once we rescheduled I didn’t check the summer time events happening in Denver. Needless to say there was a huge event going on where we were going to photograph so we quickly changed locations. I had a blast getting to know Don & Andrea as we roamed around Denver. Such a sweet couple together and we are looking forward to their August wedding.

Don’t look now but I am on a blogging roll. Three blog posts in three days. Must be a new record for me. Still have a lot more I want to post and share, so I will try to continue this streak. Up now is Danielle and Adam’s Denver engagement portraits. We met downtown Denver for their session and they brought along some props to include in their session. They brought some balloons, champagne glasses, and a double seat bike that we didn’t have enough time with as the sun was setting on our session.

Kammi and I are so excited for their June wedding. They are getting married at the Highlands Ranch Mansion. The mansion just went through a million dollar renovation and is officially open on June 1st. Take a look at their website to see an amazing venue. I am like a giddy school boy thinking about the photographic possibilities of this incredible venue. In the meantime check out some of my favorite photos from their session.

This past week I photographed the Jessica and Cameron who met overseas while Cameron was stationed in Russia and she was working in Europe. The carried the relationship all the way back to the states where they are getting married. We talked about all kind of ideas for their session and decided we would add some fireworks to the end of the session as it got dark. Something I had never done, but wanted to try.  I stopped by the firework store and pick up several fountain sparklers and we were all set. Love some of the photos from the session.  If you are planning a wedding and want to see more of our Denver wedding photography head on over to our website.
